About Ingredients:
Do not make substitutions in these pet treat recipes, unless the recipe advises so, or you are absolutely sure that the substitution is safe. This includes substituting a similar ingredient (i.e. margarine, instead of butter, and a different type of ingredient -i.e. regular cottage cheese instead of low-sodium cottage cheese). Please only use exactly what is called for, and read carefully to ensure this.

Recipe Footnotes:
Each treat recipe is marked to specify what particular pets it is suitable for. Each recipe is self-explanatory, and should be followed exactly as they are written, as a general rule. If a recipe does not state that is appropriate for a certain species, please do not serve the recipe to that animal. An exception to this is if you have had professional or veterinarian advice, or if you yourself, have knowledge of animal nutritional requirements are you know that such a recipe will be safe.

Additionally, some recipes may specify that they are better suited for older or younger animals. In this case, the treats can still be given harmlessly, to animals of any age.

All the recipes contained in this collection, when used as directed, are designed to be safe and beneficial for healthy animals to enjoy. However, certain animals may have medical or other complications that may not allow them to consume certain foods. Please remember that you know your pet better than anyone else. Please exercise caution when choosing new foods to give to your pet. When introducing new foods, offer them gradually, and check to see that your pet is able to tolerate them. Please note that the author of these recipes cannot be responsible for understanding the individual concerns or dietary needs of your pets. Most importantly, do use the treat recipes as a substitute for regular healthy food. Keep the treats in moderation, and make sure your pet is eating enough of their regular food in addition to the treats. Also make sure you are monitoring your pet for signs of sickness, fatigue, weakness, malnourishment, or obesity. If your pet is acting strangely, or has a sudden or significant change in behavior, energy or temperament, please discontinue the treats and seek the advice of a vet.
